2. The short version

This website is built to be data-minimal by design. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, embeds no third-party content (fonts and all assets are served from this domain), and contains no contact forms. The only processing of personal data is the technically necessary server logging by the hosting provider and email communication when you write to me.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit the site, the server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system, and the response status code.

This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the technically correct delivery, security and optimisation of the website. A data-processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS. Log files are retained for the period defined by the hosting provider and then deleted or anonymised.

4. Contact by email

If you email me, your details (email address, name, message content) are stored to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). Data is deleted once it is no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. External links

This website links to external services such as LinkedIn. When you click such a link you leave this website and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. No content from those providers is embedded here, so no data is transmitted to them by merely visiting this site.

6. RSS feed

The RSS feed is a static file. Retrieving it is subject to the server-log processing described in section 3.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data: access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). An email to the address above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner, Devrientstraße 5, 01067 Dresden, Germany.

8. Data security

All transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. The site sends restrictive security headers, including a Content Security Policy that technically prevents third-party content from being loaded.

9. Changes

I may update this privacy notice when the legal situation or the website changes. The date of the last update is shown above.
